Ready-to-use NiMH pack for 7.2 V devices

This DUSLAN pack delivers 7.2 V and 2200 mAh from six AA cells arranged in a 3 x 2 layout. Nickel-metal-hydride chemistry provides rechargeable power without the memory effect of older nickel-cadmium types. Pre-fitted 22 AWG leads terminate in bare wire, so the pack connects directly to devices that accept 7.2 V input. It suits hobby robots, RC vehicles, portable instruments and similar equipment that expects a standard 6-cell NiMH brick.

Thermal and power behaviour under load

NiMH cells run cool at the rated 1.0 C discharge of 2.2 A, so the pack stays near ambient temperature during normal operation. Internal resistance is low enough that voltage sag remains modest even at the maximum continuous draw. Charging at the recommended 0.5 C rate of 1.1 A keeps cell heating minimal and extends cycle life. No active cooling or special ventilation is required in typical enclosures.

Mechanical fit and wiring convenience

The brick measures 51 mm long, 45 mm wide and 30 mm high, weighing 182 g, so it slots into many existing battery compartments designed for six AA cells. Four-inch leads give enough reach for board-level soldering or connector crimping without extension wires. The pack replaces loose cells and holders, freeing internal space and eliminating contact-resistance issues. Builders needing higher voltage, different chemistry or a plug-in connector will need a separate solution.
