7.2 V 4200 mAh NiMH Pack for RC Racing

This 7.2 volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack delivers 4200 mAh capacity through a standard Tamiya connector. It uses six Sub C cells arranged in a 2 x 3 flat stick configuration measuring 135 mm long, 45 mm wide and 25 mm high. The pack weighs 349 g and fits Associated, HPI, LOSI, Traxxas, Tamiya, Kyosho and other standard 7.2 V RC cars.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

NiMH chemistry runs cooler than high-discharge lithium packs during typical bashing or club racing, so the flat stick stays comfortable to handle between heats. No internal fan or active cooling is present, meaning operation is silent aside from the vehicle drivetrain. The 4200 mAh rating supports extended run times at moderate current draw without voltage sag that would trigger thermal throttling.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous high-current demand the six-cell stick maintains a steady voltage curve thanks to low internal resistance of the Sub C cells. The flat layout distributes heat evenly across the 135 mm length, reducing hot-spot buildup during long mains. Capacity holds through repeated cycles when charged on a compatible NiMH peak-detection charger, avoiding the puffing risk seen in soft-case lithium alternatives.
