1/2 AA lithium thionyl chloride cell

The DUSLAN ER14250 is a 3.6 volt primary lithium battery with a nominal capacity of 1200 mAh. It fits devices that require the 1/2 AA form factor and operates reliably from minus 55 to plus 85 degrees Celsius. Typical applications include backup power for circuit boards, utility meters, medical equipment and LED lighting. This cell is not rechargeable and must not be placed in a charger.

No accessories or software included

The product is supplied as a single bare cell without tabs, holders, cables or any configuration software. Integration into a device therefore requires separate procurement of a suitable battery holder or direct soldering to the printed circuit board within a few seconds to avoid heat damage. No firmware, drivers or management utilities are provided or needed for this primary chemistry.

Limits of primary lithium chemistry

As a non-rechargeable lithium thionyl chloride cell, the ER14250 cannot be recharged; attempting to do so creates a safety hazard. Self-discharge is very low, but the supplier recommends storage below plus 30 degrees Celsius in a clean, dry, ventilated area to preserve the 3.66 volt open-circuit voltage. The 14.5 millimetre diameter and 25.25 millimetre height fix the mechanical envelope, so compartments sized for other 1/2 AA variants must be verified before use.
