Charging limited to paired slots and fixed currents

The unit accepts two, four, six or eight cells at once but only in pairs, so an odd number of depleted batteries cannot be charged together. AA slots deliver 200 mA and AAA slots 80 mA at 2.8 V DC, with a built-in twelve-hour timer that then drops to trickle charge; no independent channel control or faster rates are provided.

The twenty-four supplied batteries use nickel-cadmium chemistry at 1.2 volts and 800 mAh capacity, rated for up to five hundred recharge cycles.
