Application & Purpose

The Dwyer 616KD-03 is a differential pressure transmitter built for measuring low-pressure air or compatible gases in HVAC and building-automation systems. It serves technicians and facility engineers who need a reliable 4 to 20 mA signal proportional to pressures between 0 and 5 in wc.

Power & Environment

The unit operates on 10 to 35 V DC in two-wire mode or 12 to 26 V AC in four-wire mode, drawing only the loop current required for the output signal. An IP20 and NEMA 1 enclosure rating means it is intended for indoor, protected mounting where condensation and dust are minimal.

Selection Decider

The fixed measurement span of 0 to 5 in wc with a stated accuracy of ±2 % of full scale is the single specification that determines whether this transmitter matches the control loop requirements.

Questions about this item

How is the 616KD-03 mounted and wired, and what step is often missed?

Connect the 1/8 in or 1/4 in hose-barb ports to the pressure source, then wire the screw terminals for either 2-wire 10 to 35V DC or 4-wire 12 to 26V AC; the step often missed is selecting the correct wiring scheme for the supply voltage used.

What maintenance or replacement will the 616KD-03 need over time?

Periodically verify the +/-2 % full-scale accuracy against a known reference; if drift exceeds tolerance, replace the transmitter — no user-serviceable sensor or filter elements are specified.

What limit appears first during continuous operation of the 616KD-03?

The 2 psig overpressure rating is the first hard limit; sustained pressure above that can damage the sensor, while the IP20 and NEMA 1 ratings restrict use to clean, dry indoor environments.
