Starter Kit for LetraTag Makers

The DYMO 12331 kit supplies three assorted rolls for LetraTag personal label makers. Each roll measures .50" wide by 13 ft long and uses direct thermal print technology. The pack contains one white paper tape, one white plastic tape and one silver metallic tape. Buyers who need wider formats or continuous lengths beyond 13 ft per roll should look elsewhere.

Simple Drop-In Installation

Loading a roll takes seconds: open the compartment, insert the cassette and close the cover. The direct thermal process means no ink ribbons or cartridges to replace. Misalignment can occur if the tape is not seated squarely against the rollers before closing the lid. Users who prefer cartridge-based thermal transfer systems will find this format incompatible.

Direct Thermal Media Limits

Direct thermal labels darken over time when exposed to heat, sunlight or friction, so they suit indoor, short-term labelling. The plastic and metallic tapes resist moisture and tearing better than the paper roll. All three rolls share the .50" width constraint of the LetraTag platform. Applications requiring colour printing or permanent archival durability fall outside this technology.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the DYMO 12331 tape feeds and prints correctly after loading it into my LetraTag label maker?

Insert a roll, close the cover, and press the print button; a clean, smudge-free label on the 0.50" wide tape confirms the direct thermal mechanism is working.

What tape types come in the 12331 starter kit and do I need to buy anything else to start labelling?

The kit contains three 13 ft rolls — white paper, white plastic, and silver metallic plastic — so you can begin printing immediately without extra purchases.

Which 12331 tape variant should I choose for durable indoor labelling versus temporary paper tags?

Use the white plastic or silver metallic rolls for moisture-resistant, tear-proof labels; choose the white paper roll for short-term or disposable tags.
