Direct replacement for MP7740 and X40 series

This bare lamp is an OEM component built to the 3M 78-6969-9565-9 specification. It fits the MP7740, MP7740i, MP7740iA, X40 and X40i projector models without a housing assembly. Buyers who need a complete module with cage attached should look elsewhere.

Simple bare-lamp swap for compatible units

Installation requires opening the projector and seating the bare bulb into the existing housing. No tools beyond a screwdriver are typically needed, but alignment tabs must match exactly or the lamp will not strike. Touching the glass envelope with bare fingers can shorten life.

Steady output during extended presentations

The lamp maintains consistent brightness over long sessions typical of classroom or meeting-room use. Thermal design follows the original 3M specification so colour balance does not drift as the projector warms up. Frequent on-off cycling reduces overall hours more than continuous operation.
