Full-frame PL-mount cinema prime with T1.9 aperture, Cooke /i metadata and minimal breathing
The DZOFILM Vespid 2 18mm T1.9 is a full-frame cinema prime lens built for PL-mount cameras. It covers large-format sensors including VistaVision and uses an aspherical element to control aberrations, distortion and focus breathing across the aperture range.
Its 1.76 lb weight and 80mm front diameter make it practical for gimbal, drone and handheld rigs where balance and speed matter. Cooke /i metadata and 300° focus rotation with 0.8 MOD gears support professional follow-focus workflows. Buyers needing rear-mount filter support should note the Vespid 2 series does not accept DZOFILM Koop filters.
The lens mounts to ARRI PL cameras and opens to T1.9, stopping down to T22 for exposure control. A common 80mm front diameter and matched gear positions across the series allow fast lens changes without reconfiguring matte boxes or follow-focus units.

Seat the lens flange against the PL mount and rotate the locking ring until it clicks; the step often missed is tightening the Cooke /i metadata contact pins so the camera reads focal length and aperture data.
The 0.8 MOD focus and iris gears should be checked for backlash and re-greased if rotation feels gritty; the 300° focus barrel travel and 80mm front diameter stay consistent across the series for follow-focus calibration.
Minimal breathing and distortion are controlled by the aspherical element, but the T1.9 aperture depth of field becomes the practical limit for critical focus hold during sustained handheld or gimbal work.
