Replacement LCD Panel

The E-buy 15.4" LP154WX4 (TL)(C3) is a WXGA resolution screen built as a direct replacement for compatible laptops. It delivers a 1280 x 800 pixel display on a 15.4 inch diagonal with a glossy surface finish. Buyers who need a touchscreen layer or a higher pixel density panel cannot use this part.

CCFL Backlight Operation

This unit uses a single cold cathode fluorescent lamp with a two-pin power connector for illumination. The CCFL technology draws steady power during normal operation and produces a faint audible hum from the inverter circuit. Users seeking the lower energy consumption or instant-on response of LED backlighting will not find those characteristics here.

Installation Requirements

The screen ships without an inverter board or the 30-pin data cable required to complete the repair. Installers must reuse the original cables or source them separately to connect the 30-pin interface. The 24-month warranty covers the panel itself but does not extend to a dead-pixel guarantee.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 15.4" LP154WX4 (TL)(C3) screen and which step is often missed?

Connect the 30-pin data cable and the 2-pin CCFL lamp connector; the step often missed is seating the lamp connector fully so the backlight receives power.

What maintenance or replacement will the CCFL backlight need later?

The single CCFL lamp will dim over time and eventually require a full panel replacement because the lamp is not user-serviceable.

What limit appears first during sustained use of this CCFL panel?

The CCFL backlight reaches its stable brightness after warm-up; prolonged operation can accelerate lamp aging and reduce luminance.
