15.4" WXGA CCFL replacement panel

This 15.4 inch WXGA LCD panel replaces a damaged or dim screen in a Compaq Presario C742EM laptop. It delivers a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution with a glossy finish and uses a single CCFL backlight. The panel is supplied as a brand new, A+ premium grade component.

30 pin connector and 2 pin lamp interface

The screen connects through a 30 pin data cable and a 2 pin backlight lamp connector. An inverter and data cable are not included, so the original cables must be reused or sourced separately. Compatibility is limited to models that match this exact pin layout and CCFL specification.

Upgrade from cracked or failing CCFL display

The panel restores the original 1280 x 800 WXGA image quality for users whose current screen has physical damage, backlight failure or colour degradation. The jump is worth it when the laptop chassis and graphics subsystem remain functional and only the display module needs replacement.

Questions about this item

How do I know this 15.4" WXGA 1280x800 CCFL glossy screen is the right version for my Compaq Presario C742EM?

Match the 15.4 inch diagonal, 1280 x 800 resolution, single CCFL backlight with 2 lamp pins, and the 30 pin data cable to your current panel. The 13.1" x 8.2" dimensions and glossy finish must also match.

What does the 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution mean for daily use on this 15.4" panel?

The 1280 x 800 pixel grid on a 15.4 inch diagonal gives a WXGA workspace suited to office applications and standard definition video. Text and icons appear at a comfortable size without scaling.

What does the 30 pin data cable interface limit in practice?

The 30 pin connector carries the video signal for the 1280 x 800 resolution. It requires a matching 30 pin socket on the laptop and a separate inverter for the single CCFL backlight, which is not included.
