15.4" WXGA CCFL Laptop LCD Screen

This 15.4-inch replacement panel delivers a 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution with a glossy finish. It uses a single CCFL backlight driven through a 2-pin lamp connector and a 30-pin data cable. The screen measures 13.1 by 8.2 inches and is rated as brand new A+ premium grade.

For Advent 5421 owners matching exact specs

Buyers restoring an Advent 5421 laptop with a 15.4-inch WXGA CCFL panel will find this a direct fit when the original screen matches the 30-pin data and 2-pin lamp connections. Anyone needing an LED-backlit panel, a different resolution, or a screen without a glossy coating should look elsewhere.

Installation requires connector and inverter checks

Fitting the panel involves connecting the 30-pin data cable and the 2-pin CCFL lamp connector to the laptop's inverter board. The inverter and data cable are not included, so reusing the original cables is essential. Mismatched pin counts or a faulty inverter are the most common reasons the replacement fails to light.

Questions about this item

Does the 30-pin data cable connector match my current 15.4-inch WXGA screen?

Yes — the replacement uses a 30-pin data cable connector and a 2-pin CCFL backlight connector, so it will plug into the same sockets as your existing 1280 x 800 panel.

Will the 2-pin CCFL backlight connector work with the inverter board in my Advent 5421?

The screen ships with a 2-pin CCFL backlight connector designed for single-lamp inverters like the one in the Advent 5421; your original inverter plugs straight in.

How can I verify the 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution is active after I fit the 15.4-inch panel?

Open the display settings in your operating system and confirm the native resolution reads 1280 x 800; the image should fill the 13.1 x 8.2 inch active area with no scaling.
