Replacement 15.6-inch CCFL LCD Panel

This 15.6-inch WXGA+ TFT LCD panel uses a CCFL backlight with a single bulb and a 30-pin video connector. It delivers a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and is built as a direct replacement screen for compatible laptops. The unit is supplied new and fully tested with a working guarantee.

Upgrading from a failed or dim CCFL display

The panel replaces a cracked, flickering or yellowing original screen in supported Acer TravelMate models including the 5740-524G32N. The jump is worth it when the existing CCFL backlight has aged beyond usable brightness or the glass is damaged. It restores the original 1366 x 768 image without requiring a conversion to LED technology.

Fits laptop lids designed for 30-pin CCFL screens

Installation requires a chassis that accepts a 15.6-inch CCFL panel with a 30-pin socket and single-bulb inverter wiring. The screen frees the user from external monitor dependency and restores portable use. It is not suitable for systems built for LED backlights or different pin-count interfaces.

Questions about this item

Does the 30 pin CCFL socket match the original connector on the TravelMate 5740?

The panel uses a 30 pin CCFL socket, which is the same video signal interface used by the compatible part numbers listed for the TravelMate 5740.

What is the step people miss when swapping the CCFL backlight panel?

After fitting the 15.6-inch panel, the single CCFL bulb must be connected to the inverter cable before the bezel is snapped shut; forgetting that cable leaves the screen dark.

How long is the CCFL bulb rated to last before it dims?

The manufacturer backs the panel with a 900-day warranty, which reflects the expected service life of the CCFL backlight under normal use.
