Replacement screen for 8.9-inch WSVGA panels

This LED-backlit panel measures 8.9 inches diagonally and shows 1366 by 768 pixels. It uses a 40-pin connector and is supplied new from the manufacturer. The surface finish may be glossy or matte depending on stock.

Fits owners of 8.9-inch WSVGA laptops

Buyers with a matching 8.9-inch WSVGA LED screen and a 40-pin cable can use this part. Machines that need a different diagonal, another resolution, or a 30-pin or 50-pin interface will not accept it. Laptops requiring an integrated inverter board are also unsuitable.

40-pin connector and 1366x768 resolution decide fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 40-pin data connection paired with the 1366 by 768 pixel grid. If the original screen uses those two values this panel will work; otherwise it will not.

Questions about this item

Will the 8.9-inch panel still fit if my original screen is glossy and the replacement arrives matte?

The surface finish is glossy or matte depending on availability; match the resolution, backlight and 8.9-inch size to your current screen for 100% compatibility.

Does the 40-pin connector draw enough power to run the LED backlight without an external inverter?

The LED backlight uses a diode lamp and the 40-pin data cable carries the signal; no separate inverter is included or required.

What cables or boards from my old laptop must I keep to install this 1366 x 768 replacement?

You must reuse your existing 40-pin data cable; the inverter is not needed for this LED panel.
