Screen identity and purpose

This is a 15.4 inch WXGA replacement panel with a 1280 x 800 resolution and a glossy finish. It uses a single CCFL backlight and a 30 pin data connector. The panel is built to match the original specifications for the Advent 5301 laptop model.

Who it fits and who it does not

Buyers repairing an Advent 5301 with the exact screen specifications listed will find a direct match. Those whose laptop uses a different resolution, a matte finish, an LED backlight, or a different pin count should look for the panel that matches their original part number.

Installation notes

Fitting requires removing the bezel, disconnecting the old 30 pin cable and the separate two pin inverter cable, then connecting the new panel. The inverter and data cable are not included, so the original cables must be reused. Care is needed with the fragile CCFL lamp and connector alignment.

Questions about this item

Do I need my existing inverter and 30-pin data cable to install the 15.4" WXGA 1280x800 glossy CCFL screen?

Yes, the replacement panel ships without an inverter or data cable, so you must reuse the original 30-pin cable and inverter from your current laptop.

Will the 15.4" 1280x800 CCFL panel work with the hinge brackets and bezel from my older Advent 5301 chassis?

The screen matches the 13.1" by 8.2" footprint and 30-pin connector of the original 15.4" panel, so existing brackets and bezel align correctly.

How can I confirm the 15.4" 1280x800 glossy CCFL display is operating correctly after fitting it?

Power on the laptop and verify the native 1280x800 resolution appears, the CCFL backlight illuminates evenly across the 15.4" glossy surface, and no dead pixels are visible.
