What this remote replaces

This replacement handset is made for Sony micro systems that originally shipped with the RM-SC5B controller. It covers the CMT-C7NT and CMT-C5B models so you can regain full infrared operation without the original unit.

Check compatibility before ordering

Verify that your system's model number appears in the supported list above. The device uses infrared only, so line-of-sight to the main unit is required. No programming or pairing steps are needed once the batteries are fitted.

Behaviour during extended use

The remote draws negligible power and is rated for 12 months of warranty coverage with a 60 day free replacement or refund window. 3.100 per cent OEM compatibility means button response stays consistent over long listening sessions without drift or latency.
