E-yield 1200Mbps Dual Band USB 3.0 Adapter

This dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter delivers AC1200 wireless data rates via a USB 3.0 interface. It provides 867Mbps on the 5.8 GHz band and 300Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. A 2.3ft cradle with extension cable allows flexible placement for optimal signal reception. The adapter supports Windows 10, 8, 7 and macOS.

Desktop and laptop users needing AC1200 speeds

It suits PC, laptop or Mac owners upgrading to a dual band AC router for faster throughput and extended range. The Soft AP feature creates a hotspot from a wired connection to share with other wireless devices. Buyers needing Bluetooth connectivity or an internal PCIe form factor should look elsewhere.

USB 3.0 interface with 2.3ft extension cradle

The USB 3.0 connection provides the necessary bandwidth for AC1200 performance. The included 2.3ft cradle cable lets you position the adapter away from the chassis for better reception. Systems limited to USB 2.0 ports will not achieve the rated 867Mbps on 5.8 GHz.

Questions about this item

What does the 1200 Mbps rating mean when the adapter is installed in a PC?

The 1200 Mbps figure combines the maximum theoretical rates of both bands: 867 Mbps on the 5.8 GHz band and 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Actual throughput will be lower due to overhead, distance and interference.

How does the USB 3.0 interface affect the maximum speed I can achieve?

USB 3.0 provides up to 5 Gbps of bus bandwidth, so it does not bottleneck the adapter's 867 Mbps peak on 5.8 GHz or 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.

What does the 2.3 ft cradle and extension cable let me do for placement?

The 2.3 ft USB 3.0 cradle lets you position the adapter away from the chassis for better signal reception, or you can plug the adapter directly into a USB port.
