Cable installer bit with carbide tip drills up to 16 in deep through 18 in overall length
The Eagle Tool EM25018 is a carbide-tipped drill bit designed for pulling cables through wood framing. Its 18-inch overall length and 16-inch maximum drilling depth suit electricians and low-voltage installers running wire between studs or joists. The 1/4-inch bit diameter creates a standard hole for common cable bundles. A 3/16-inch hex shank with three flats locks securely into quick-change chucks.
Carbide tip construction resists heat buildup and edge wear when boring repeated holes through multiple studs. Powder coating reduces friction and helps clear chips during deep passes up to the 16-inch limit. The straight-flute geometry evacuates material steadily rather than grabbing, so the bit tracks straight through stacked framing members without wandering. Shank flats prevent slippage under high torque from pneumatic or high-speed drills.
This bit drills a single 1/4-inch diameter hole suited to NM-B, UTP or coaxial bundles. Installers needing larger diameters for conduit or heavy feeder cables must select a different bit size. The fixed 18-inch length cannot be extended for taller wall cavities or floor-to-ceiling runs. Shank dimensions are 3/16-inch hex only, so it fits compatible chucks without adapters.

The carbide tip resists heat buildup better than standard steel when drilling through wood framing all day.
The bit has a 3/16 in hex shank with three flats, so your chuck must grip 3/16 in hex securely.
With 16 in maximum drilling depth and 18 in overall length, it reaches deeper cavities than shorter bits while fitting standard drill chucks.
