Cable Installer Bit 3/8in
The Eagle Tool US ESP37536 is a serrated screw-point drill bit designed for pulling cable through wood framing. Its 36-inch overall length and 34-inch maximum drilling depth suit electricians and low-voltage installers running wire between floors or through stud bays. The 3/16-inch hex shank with three flats locks securely in a standard drill chuck.
Powder-Coated Carbon Steel
Carbon steel construction with a powder-coated finish resists corrosion during everyday job-site exposure. The straight-flute geometry clears chips efficiently while the serrated tip grabs the wood to start the hole without walking. Normal drilling pressure produces typical rotary-tool noise and vibration; no unusual thermal load is generated by the accessory itself.
Replaces Shorter Auger Bits
This bit upgrades from standard-length auger or spade bits when the drilling depth exceeds their reach, such as traversing double top plates or deep header beams. It is not for masonry, metal studs or holes larger than 3/8 inch; installers needing wider pathways or concrete penetration should select a different tool.

Questions about this item
How do I fit the 3/16 in hex shank into my drill chuck without it slipping?
Tighten the chuck fully on the three flats of the 3/16 in hex shank; the flats stop the bit from spinning inside the jaws.
Will the powder coating wear off and need re-coating?
The powder coat protects the carbon steel from rust; if it chips, wipe the spot clean and apply a light oil film instead of re-coating.
What stops me from drilling deeper than 34 in with this 36 in bit?
The fluted section ends at 34 in, so chips cannot clear beyond that depth and the bit will bind if you push further.
