Industrial 250V Straight-Blade Connector

This Eaton Arrow Hart AH5469Y is a 20A, 250V straight-blade plug built to heavy-duty industrial specification grade. It accepts #16-12 AWG conductors through a back-wire screw connection and features a two-pole, three-wire grounding layout in a yellow nylon housing.

Wiring Professionals Needing 6-20R Configuration

The connector suits electricians and maintenance crews terminating 20A 250V circuits that require a NEMA 6-20R mating interface. It will not fit other NEMA patterns, nor serve circuits rated for different voltages or amperages.

20A 250V Rating With #16-12 AWG Back-Wire Terminals

The single deciding specification is the 20A, 250V rating combined with #16-12 AWG back-wire screw terminals; verify the circuit amperage, voltage and wire gauge match exactly before installation.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 16 AWG or 12 AWG wire size for this connector?

The connector accepts both 16 AWG and 12 AWG conductors, so you select the gauge that matches your cable.

What does the 20A 250V rating mean when the plug is installed?

It indicates the maximum continuous current of 20 amps at 250 volts the device can safely carry in a properly wired circuit.

How does the NEMA 6-20R configuration limit what I can plug in?

The 6-20R layout only mates with matching 6-20P plugs, preventing connection to other voltages or amperages.
