  • Product typeNon-Reversing
  • Non-reversing IEC starter with 1.0-5.0 A overload range
  • 24 V AC coil operates on 50/60 Hz power
  • Three-pole design rated 9.0 A for motor control
  • NEMA 1 enclosure measures 14.9 in wide by 8.5 in high
  • Hand/Off/Auto selector switch included for local operation

Purpose and audience

The Eaton ECX09C1THA-R63/B is a non-reversing IEC magnetic motor starter rated for 9.0 A AC at 24 V AC coil voltage. It suits industrial control panels that need a compact three-pole starter with an integrated overload relay and hand-off-auto selector switch.

Bundled function

The unit includes a 1NO auxiliary contact and an adjustable overload relay settable from 1.0 to 5.0 A. The hand-off-auto selector switch provides local manual control without extra wiring, and the NEMA 1 enclosure protects the components in indoor environments.

Installation notes

The starter measures 14.9 in wide, 8.5 in high and 10.1 in deep, so panel space must accommodate those dimensions. Wiring follows standard three-phase practice at 208 V, 240 V, 480 V or 575 V; incorrect phase connection or an overload setting outside the 1.0 to 5.0 A range will cause nuisance trips or motor damage.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.0-5.0 A overload relay need periodic recalibration?

The overload relay is factory calibrated for the 1.0 to 5.0 A range and does not require scheduled recalibration under normal operation.

What limits continuous operation at the 9.0 A AC rating?

The starter is rated for 9.0 A AC; sustained loads above this value will trip the 1.0-5.0 A adjustable overload relay.

How much heat does the 24 V AC coil produce during all-day operation?

The 24 V AC coil draws minimal power and generates only low heat inside the NEMA 1 enclosure during continuous duty.
