The Eaton NGS16C2POE-1 is a 16-port managed Ethernet switch with two SFP uplink ports and a 220 W PoE budget. It is designed for businesses that need to power IP phones, wireless access points or cameras over Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a or Cat8 cabling while retaining full Layer 2 control.

Rack space and power planning

Verify that your rack or desktop location can accommodate the included rack-mounting hardware or the four rubber feet for flat placement. Ensure a C14 inlet is available for the supplied 1.5 m C14-to-C13 power cord and that the 220 W PoE budget matches the combined draw of all powered devices you intend to connect.

Upgrade from unmanaged or lower-power PoE

This switch replaces unmanaged desktop units that lack VLAN, QoS or SNMP management and cannot supply PoE. The jump is worthwhile when you need centralized configuration, traffic prioritisation for voice or video, and the ability to deliver up to 220 W across 16 Gigabit ports without adding separate injectors.
