Practical limits of screw-terminal IEC contactors

Screw terminals demand correct torque and periodic inspection to prevent loosening under vibration. The open design offers no protection against dust or moisture, so the enclosure must be provided by the panel builder. The 240 V AC coil ties the control circuit to that voltage; a different control voltage requires a different contactor. Non-reversing operation means a separate device or wiring is needed for motor reversal.
