Portable retro Bluetooth speaker

The Edifier MP230 is a compact 2.0 channel portable speaker with dual 48mm full-range drivers and passive radiators delivering 20W RMS output. It suits listeners who want a battery-powered wireless speaker with a vintage 1950s and 1960s radio aesthetic for indoor or outdoor use.

Upgrade from phone speakers

This speaker replaces the limited volume and bass of built-in phone or laptop audio with a dedicated 2600 mAh battery providing 10 hours of playtime and 20W RMS power. The jump is worth it when you need louder, clearer stereo sound for travel, picnics or desk use without relying on a power outlet.

Simple setup with multiple inputs

Pairing is handled through standard Bluetooth while USB soundcard, AUX and micro-SD slots give wired and card-based playback options. Piano-style keys on the top panel control volume, playback and source selection. The main friction point is remembering to charge the battery before a long outing.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the Edifier MP230 so I can check if it fits my shelf or bag?

The speaker measures 21.3 in wide, 12.9 in deep and 10.6 in high.

How do I connect the MP230 and which step do people often miss?

Pair via Bluetooth, plug an AUX cable into the AUX port, insert a micro-SD card, or use the USB soundcard connection; the step users miss is selecting the correct input mode with the piano-key buttons for the chosen source.

What part of the MP230 will need replacement first and when?

The internal 2600 mAh lithium-polymer battery will degrade over time; after several hundred charge cycles you may notice reduced playtime from the rated 10 hours.
