What this cable is and who it suits

This USB-C to Magnetic 3 cable delivers up to 140W of power for compatible MacBook models. It targets owners of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro units from 2021, 2023 and 2024, plus the 2022 MacBook Air, who want a detachable magnetic connection.

The specification that decides fit

The connector uses Apple’s Magnetic 3 interface, so it only works with laptops that accept that specific tip. Check your model number — A2681, A2779, A2780 or the matching year and size — before buying; other USB-C ports will not latch or charge at the rated wattage.

Installation ease and common pitfalls

Plug the USB-C end into a 140W-capable charger, then let the magnetic tip snap onto the MacBook; the 6.6 ft nylon-braided lead gives desk flexibility. The most frequent issue is attempting to use the cable with non-Magnetic 3 MacBooks or under-powered adapters, which prevents charging entirely.
