Broadcast Dynamic Microphone Bundle

The Electro-Voice RE20 is a cardioid dynamic microphone designed for broadcast and studio vocal work. Its Variable-D design minimises proximity effect, delivering consistent tone regardless of speaker distance. The bundle adds a Cloud CL-1 Mic Activator and an XLR cable for immediate use.

Cloud CL-1 Activator and Cable Included

The CL-1 provides clean gain for the low-output RE20 without adding noise or colouration, removing the need for an expensive high-gain preamp. The included XLR-XLR cable and 81715 stand adapter complete the signal chain so the kit works straight from the box.

Suited for Spoken-Word Studios

This package targets podcasters, voice-over artists and radio stations that need a proven broadcast microphone with a ready-to-go gain solution. Buyers who want more storage or builders who need a second cardioid capsule for stereo recording should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Does the RE20 need any internal parts replaced over time?

As a dynamic microphone it has no capsules or tubes to wear out; the humbucking coil and steel body are built for long-term service with no scheduled replacements.

What limits the RE20 during long recording sessions?

The cardioid pattern rejects off-axis sound at 180-degrees, so room reflections become the practical ceiling before the mic itself distorts.

How much heat or noise does the Cloudlifter CL-1 add when left on all day?

The CL-1 draws phantom power only, runs silently and stays cool to the touch even during continuous operation.
