What these probes do

This set contains four colour-coded back probes for automotive diagnostic work. Each probe is 21 mm long and fits standard 4 mm banana plug test leads. The probes slide into weather pack style connectors to access signals without damaging wire insulation. They are designed for technicians who need non-invasive access to sensor circuits.

The probe length that decides fit

The 21 mm probe length determines whether the tip reaches the terminal inside a given connector housing. Shorter probes may bottom out before contacting the pin, while longer ones can bend or miss the contact entirely. Check the connector depth on the vehicle before deciding if this set will work for the job.

Behaviour under sustained load

The probes are intended for brief voltage or resistance checks rather than continuous current carrying. Extended use at high current can heat the small contact area and affect reading accuracy. For long-term monitoring, a permanent tap or breakout harness is more appropriate than relying on back probes alone.
