17-inch POS Touchmonitor

The Elo 1717L is a 17-inch desktop touchmonitor built for point-of-sale, point-of-information and loyalty-system deployments. Its AccuTouch five-wire resistive screen handles continuous public use and resists splashes, grease and food debris. A zero-bezel cabinet and antiglare coating suit countertop and shelf-level installations. Integrated cable management keeps service areas tidy.

Retail and hospitality operators

This monitor suits cashiers, kiosk integrators and shelf-edge signage managers who need a rugged touch surface with serial and USB connectivity. It draws 20 watts in operation and 1.1 watts in sleep, so it fits low-power budgets. Buyers who need digital video inputs such as HDMI or DisplayPort should look at other models, as this unit provides only an analog VGA connection.

AccuTouch resistive technology

The AccuTouch controller registers input from gloved fingers, styluses or any opaque object, a decisive advantage in wet or dirty environments. The panel delivers 1280 x 1024 resolution, 200 cd/m² brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio with 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles. Touch data travels over serial or USB, and the 100-240 VAC internal supply works worldwide without an external brick.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the AccuTouch, IntelliTouch or iTouch version for a retail counter?

AccuTouch resists splashing liquids, food and grease, making it the choice for high-use retail and hospitality counters.

What does the 1280 x 1024 resolution look like on the 17-inch panel in daily use?

The 5:4 aspect ratio matches legacy POS layouts, so existing software fits without scaling or black bars.

Does the Serial/USB touch interface and VGA video cap the refresh rate or resolution?

VGA supports up to 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz; the touch controller works over either serial or USB without limiting the display timing.
