Commercial Grade 2 Classroom Lever

This Em-D-Kay cylindrical lockset carries a Grade 2 rating for commercial duty and uses a classroom function that keeps the outside lever locked until opened by key. The satin chrome finish resists corrosion while the angled lever meets ADA requirements for accessible operation.

Interior doors needing key-controlled entry

It suits offices, schools and corridors where the outside handle must stay locked but free egress from inside is required at all times. Buyers who need a privacy function for restrooms or a passage set with no locking at all should look at a different function.

2-3/4" backset with Schlage SC4 keyway

The lock is built for a 2-3/4" backset and ships with a six-pin Schlage SC4 cylinder that can be rekeyed to match existing Schlage, Arrow, Marks, AWI, Lori, Falcon, ASSA and most Medeco cylinders.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the lever operates correctly after installation?

Confirm the lever rotates up to 50 degrees without binding, returns to horizontal without sag, and the latchbolt throws 1/2 inch cleanly when the key is turned.

What components are included and what must I supply separately?

The lockset includes the lever trim, latchbolt, wrought brass/bronze front (2-1/4 x 1-1/8), and a 1-1/8 strike plate; you must provide the Schlage SC4 key and any cylinder if rekeying to a different system.

Which backset and door thickness does this model support?

This TSSL40526 is built for a 2-3/4 inch backset and fits wood or metal doors 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch thick with an adjustable front for flat or beveled edges.
