8x42 Monocular with 42mm Lens

The Emarth MONO11 is a compact monocular telescope built for outdoor observation. It delivers 8x magnification through a 42mm objective lens with fully multi-coated optics and a BAK-4 prism. The nitrogen-filled body is waterproof, fogproof, dust-proof and shockproof. A rubber armour coating provides a secure grip in wet or cold conditions.

Bird watchers, hikers

This monocular suits adults and children who want a lightweight optic that fits in a pocket or pouch. The 360ft field of view at 1000 yards helps track moving wildlife. Buyers who need twin-eye viewing for depth perception or extended glassing sessions should consider binoculars instead. The fixed 8x power also limits users who want variable zoom for different distances.

8x fixed magnification with 42mm objective

The single specification that defines this optic is the 8x42 configuration. It sets the magnification, light-gathering ability and the 360ft at 1000yd field of view in one figure. The 5.25mm exit pupil and 99.9% light transmission stem directly from this pairing. If your activity demands higher power, a larger aperture or zoom flexibility, this model will not match those requirements.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 8x42 model over other magnifications?

The 8x42 configuration gives 8× magnification with a 42 mm objective, producing a 5.25 mm exit pupil and 360 ft field of view at 1000 yd, balancing brightness and hand-held stability for bird watching and hiking.

What does the 360 ft at 1000 yd field of view mean when I am out in the field?

At 1000 yards distance you can see a 360-foot-wide scene through the monocular, so a 100-foot tree at that range fills roughly one-third of the view.

Does the fully multi-coated BAK-4 prism system limit light transmission in any way?

The FMC green-film BAK-4 prism delivers up to 99.9 % light transmission, so the optics pass virtually all gathered light to your eye with minimal reflection loss.
