The Emerson BJ-960 is a hardwired dual passive infrared sensor designed for integration with existing home alarm systems. It detects human body heat movement within a defined range while using internal circuitry and lens design to reduce false triggers from pets. Wall mounting at approximately 2.2 metres height is recommended for optimal coverage in residential or commercial settings.

Wired DC Voltage Interface

The unit operates on a DC 9 to 16 volt supply drawing 25 milliamps at 12 volts, requiring a permanent wired connection rather than battery power. Alarm output contacts are selectable between normally closed and normally open via an internal jumper, with a maximum contact rating of 28 volts DC at 80 milliamps. A tamper switch provides a separate normally closed contact rated at 28 volts DC and 100 milliamps maximum.

10 Metre 110 Degree Coverage

Detection extends to 10 metres across a 110 degree horizontal angle when mounted at the specified height and angled 6 to 12 degrees downward. Pulse count can be set to first or second level to suit general indoor or harsher environments. The detector functions reliably between minus 10 and plus 50 degrees Celsius.
