A gas valve for clothes dryers with HSI systems that handles both natural gas and LP at 40 to 175 degrees F
The White-Rodgers 25M01A-100 is a CSA-certified gas valve designed for clothes dryers that use hot-surface ignition systems. It accepts both natural gas and LP fuel and replaces a long list of OEM part numbers in the 25M series.
The valve regulates gas flow across a control range of 40 to 175 degrees Fahrenheit during normal dryer operation. It connects to 11/32 inch and 3/8 inch gas fittings without requiring additional pressure regulation hardware.
This part covers direct substitution for OEM numbers 25M01A-130 through 25M01A-196 where listed. Installers needing a valve for non-HSI ignition systems or different temperature limits must source an alternative component.

Shut off the gas supply and disconnect power before removing the old valve. Connect the 11/32 in. or 3/8 in. gas fittings using pipe-thread sealant rated for LP and natural gas. The step often missed is verifying the valve orientation matches the dryer's gas flow arrow and re-testing for leaks with a soap solution after reassembly.
The valve itself has no user-serviceable parts. Periodic maintenance consists of checking the 11/32 in. and 3/8 in. gas connections for leaks and ensuring the burner orifice remains clear. Replacement is only required if the valve fails to open or close reliably within the 40 to 175 degrees F control range.
The maximum control temperature of 175 degrees F is the primary limit. Once the dryer reaches this temperature, the valve modulates or shuts off gas flow to prevent overheating, making thermal regulation the first constraint under sustained use.
