  • AM/FM stereo radio with LED display for easy tuning
  • Aux-in jack connects phones or tablets for digital playback

All-in-one portable stereo

The Emerson EPB-3003 combines a top-loading CD player, a cassette deck with recording capability, and an AM/FM radio with LED display in one unit. It adds an aux-in jack for phones or tablets, making it a single device for physical media, broadcast radio, and digital streams. Buyers who need Bluetooth streaming or a built-in DAB+ tuner will not find those features here.

Mains or battery power

The boombox runs from an AC supply or from batteries for completely untethered listening. Dual built-in speakers deliver stereo output without external amplifiers, and a telescopic antenna pulls in FM signals cleanly. There is no published power-consumption figure, so expected battery life cannot be stated.

20-track programmable CD playback

The CD section offers 20-track programmable memory plus play, pause, skip, search, and repeat functions for customised listening sessions. Cassette recording lets you capture radio or aux sources directly onto tape. The mechanism is designed for intermittent portable use rather than continuous high-duty-cycle operation.

Questions about this item

How do I power the EPB-3003 for the first time, and which step do people often miss?

Plug the AC cord into a mains socket or insert the required batteries, then extend the telescopic antenna fully for radio reception; the step many skip is extending that antenna before tuning.

What maintenance will the cassette deck need later?

Clean the tape heads, capstan and pinch roller with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab every 20 to 30 hours of play to prevent muffled sound and tape damage.

What limit appears first during a long listening session?

Battery runtime ends first when running on cells; switch to AC power for uninterrupted playback beyond that point.
