Micro USB OTG Y Splitter with Power Input
This EN-Labs cable adds a USB-A female port to Micro USB devices that support USB OTG, letting you attach flash drives, keyboards, mice, hubs or Ethernet adapters. A second USB-A male tail supplies extra power for bus-powered 2.5" hard drives or SSDs. The OTG leg measures 8 inches and the power leg 12 inches. Both connectors use USB 2.0 signalling.
Replaces Separate OTG and Power Cables
Carrying one Y-cable removes the need to pack a standalone OTG adapter plus a dedicated power cable when you work with external storage on the go. The upgrade is worthwhile whenever your tablet or phone cannot deliver enough current for a spinning drive or when you want to keep the device charged while accessories are attached. It does not charge the host phone or tablet itself.
Limited to USB 2.0 Speeds and FAT32 Drives
The link tops out at USB 2.0 transfer rates, so large file moves will be slower than on USB 3.0 or later hosts. Only flash media formatted as FAT32 is guaranteed to be recognised; other file systems may not mount. The host must explicitly support USB OTG — devices without that capability cannot use the adapter at all.

Questions about this item
How much space do the 8‑inch OTG lead and 12‑inch power lead need behind the device?
The OTG leg is 8 inches long and the auxiliary power leg is 12 inches, so allow at least that much clearance behind the Micro‑USB port for both connectors to sit without strain.
Which plug goes in first when connecting a 2.5″ drive, and what is the common mistake?
Insert the Micro‑USB male into the host device first, then attach the drive to the USB‑A female, and finally plug the USB‑A male into a power source; the frequent error is powering the drive before the host recognises the OTG connection.
Will the USB‑A female port wear out, and can the cable be repaired?
The USB‑A female is rated for typical insertion cycles; if it becomes loose or the 8‑inch or 12‑inch leads fray, the whole Y‑splitter must be replaced as it is not user‑serviceable.
