10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for multi-mode fibre

This 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver operates at an 850nm wavelength over multi-mode fibre. It is built for Enterasys Networks equipment and third-party switches that accept the same form factor. The module targets network engineers upgrading links to 10 Gigabit speeds within data-centre racks or campus buildings.

550-metre reach on multi-mode fibre

The transceiver supports link distances up to 550 metres (1,804 ft) on standard multi-mode fibre. Beyond that range the signal degrades and a long-reach or single-mode module becomes necessary. Commercial temperature rating limits deployment to climate-controlled environments.

Questions about this item

Will this 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver link with my existing 10 GbE switch ports over multi-mode fiber?

Yes, it uses 850 nm wavelength over multi-mode fiber and is 100 % compatible with 10 GbE SFP+ ports, so it will link with your existing switch ports.

How can I verify the 550 m reach is working after I install the transceiver?

Check the link light on the switch port and run a ping or traffic test across the fiber run; a solid link and error-free throughput confirm the 550 m reach is active.
