American-Style Hard Hat with Ratchet Suspension

This hard hat delivers ANSI Z89.1 Type 1, Class C head protection in a high-visibility orange polyethylene shell. The front-brim design includes side slots for accessory mounting and venting for airflow. A four-point ratchet suspension adjusts to fit hat sizes from 6-1/2 to 8 and supports reverse donning for versatile wear. The shell weighs 0.836 lb for lightweight daily use.

ANSI Z89.1 Type 1 Class C Rating

The single specification that determines suitability is the ANSI Z89.1 Type 1, Class C certification. Type 1 protects against impacts to the top of the head only. Class C indicates the shell is conductive and provides no electrical insulation. Verify that your job site requires Type 1 top-impact protection and permits conductive headwear before purchasing.

Suits Workers Needing Vented Top-Impact Protection

This hat fits crews who need a lightweight, vented shell with a quick-adjust ratchet and side slots for face shields or hearing protection. The reversible suspension allows backward wear for improved visibility. Workers exposed to electrical hazards requiring Class E or Class G insulation should select a different helmet. Buyers needing Type 2 lateral impact protection must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How does the ANSI Type 1 Class C rating translate to on-site protection?

The hard hat meets ANSI Z89.1 Type 1 Class C, so it shields the crown from impact and penetration but provides no electrical insulation.

What do the side slots allow me to attach, and are there limits?

Side slots accept standard face shields, hearing protectors or lamp brackets that use the same slot pattern; they do not support proprietary quick-release systems.

Will the 4-point ratchet suspension fit my head without extra parts?

The integrated ratchet adjusts from hat size 6-1/2 to 8, covering the full range without swapping pads or liners.
