What This Game Is

Sledgehammer is an action driving game from ESDigital Games released in 2008. You pilot a heavily armed truck through a campaign and six single-player minigames while earning currency to upgrade weapons, armour and nitro systems. Multiplayer supports up to eight players in cooperative or deathmatch modes. The product is a new Steam download code, not a physical disc.

Installation And Common Issues

Activation requires a Steam account and the client installed on a Windows PC. After redeeming the code the game downloads automatically; no separate serial entry is needed. The most frequent problem is attempting redemption on a region-locked account or without an internet connection, which prevents the licence from attaching to the library.

Check Before You Buy

Verify that your PC meets the unpublished minimum specifications for a 2008-era action title and that you can run the Steam client. The game includes English, Italian and Russian voice tracks with subtitles and menus in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish. Buyers who need local co-op on one screen or controller-only navigation will not find those options here.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Steam code activates correctly after purchase?

After redeeming the code in the Steam client, Sledgehammer will appear in your library with a green Install button. Launching the game should display the 2014 ESDigital Games copyright splash screen and the main menu in your chosen language.

What does the downloadable purchase include and what else is required?

You receive a Steam Online Game Code for Sledgehammer. A free Steam account and the Steam client are required to activate and download the game; no physical media or additional purchases are included.

Which version of Sledgehammer should I choose for English voice acting and subtitles?

The single Steam release supports spoken English, Italian and Russian plus subtitles in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish — Spain, so the standard edition covers all those languages.
