Practical limits of the USB4 interface

Full 40 Gbps speed and 240 W charging require both host and device to support USB4 Gen 3x2 and PD 3.1 respectively. Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is included, but Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 hosts without DP Alt Mode will not output video. Cable length is fixed at 3.3 ft, so longer runs need an active or optical solution.
