Replaces slower USB C cables when 40Gbps matters

If your current cable caps at 20Gbps or 100W, this one raises the ceiling to 40Gbps and 240W. The jump is worth it when you run an eGPU, drive dual 4K monitors at 60Hz or need the fastest charge for a compatible laptop. It also covers Thunderbolt 3 and USB4 hosts without a separate Thunderbolt cable.

Limited by host port and device capabilities

The 40Gbps rate only appears on USB4 Gen 3 or Thunderbolt 3 ports; on USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports it falls to 20Gbps. Video output requires the host to support DP Alt Mode. The 240W charge rate needs a PD 3.1 charger and a device that accepts 48V/5A. Without those, the cable simply negotiates the highest level both ends allow.
