USB4 Gen 3x2 cable for 40Gbps workflows

This 5ft USB4 cable carries the Gen 3x2 specification, delivering up to 40Gbps bi-directional bandwidth with compatible hosts and devices. It suits creators moving large video libraries, developers syncing SSD enclosures, and professionals driving high-resolution displays from a single port. The braided jacket and reversible USB-C connectors are built for daily desk and travel use.

40Gbps bandwidth ceiling decides fit

The single specification that determines whether this is the right part is the 40Gbps USB4 Gen 3x2 data rate. If your host, dock, or peripheral tops out at 20Gbps (Gen 2), the cable will operate at that lower ceiling. Only systems and devices implementing the full Gen 3x2 lane configuration will realise the rated throughput.

240W power and 8K60 headroom

The cable supports Extended Power Range up to 240W at 48V/5A, so it comfortably charges 140W-class laptops such as a 16-inch MacBook Pro and leaves headroom for future 180W or 240W chargers. For video, it drives a single 8K display at 60Hz (7680x4320) or dual 4K at 60Hz. It runs out of bandwidth for dual 8K or higher refresh-rate 8K configurations, and it cannot exceed 40Gbps even with faster future standards.
