Plug either end into a USB-C port; the reversible connectors prevent upside-down insertion. No driver is required. The cable is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 devices, but the full 80 Gbps rate and 240 W charging only appear when both host and peripheral support USB4 Gen 4 and PD 3.1 Extended Power Range. Using an older charger or port will limit power to that device's maximum.
