Replacement pack for Yaesu handhelds

The Estry FT-50 is a nickel-metal-hydride battery built to match the original specifications for Yaesu FT-50, FT-40, FT-10, VXA-100 and related R-series radios. It replaces part numbers FNB-41 and FNB-42 and is supplied new with ISO9001, RoHS, CE, UN38.3 and MSDS certification.

9.6 V 1000 mAh capacity for daily operation

At 9.6 volts and 1000 milliampere-hours the pack delivers 9.6 watt-hours, enough for typical daily transmit and receive cycles on compatible handhelds. Extended high-power transmissions or multi-day shifts without charging will exceed the available headroom.

Protected chemistry limits heat and self-discharge

Integrated overcharge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short-circuit protection curbs temperature rise during normal charge and use. The Ni-MH chemistry offers low self-discharge so the radio stays ready after weeks in storage.

Questions about this item

Will the Estry FT-50 9.6V 1000mAh Ni-MH battery fit my Yaesu FT-40 or FT-10 radio that I still use?

The battery is listed as compatible with FT-50, FT-40, FT-10, VXA-100, FT-40R, FT-50R and FT-10R models, so it will fit those older Yaesu radios.

How can I confirm the Estry FT-50 battery is working correctly after I install it?

The pack includes overcharge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short-circuit protection; normal operation shows the radio powering on and holding a charge through regular use.

What comes with the Estry FT-50 battery and do I need to buy a charger separately?

The box contains the 9.6V 1000mAh Ni-MH battery pack (99.1 × 56.9 × 41.0 mm, 370.0 g) only; a compatible charger for FNB-41/FNB-42 packs must be purchased separately.
