Replacement for Olympus recorders

The Estry OL-5810 is a nickel-metal hydride battery built to match the original specifications for Olympus voice recorders. It fits models OL-5810, OL5805 and OL-5815 as a direct replacement cell. The pack delivers 3.6 volts and 700 milliampere-hours of capacity for reliable operation.

700 mAh capacity and typical runtime

At 700 mAh the cell provides 2.52 watt-hours of energy, which is sufficient for extended dictation sessions and standby periods. Heavy continuous recording will deplete the charge faster, requiring a recharge before the next long session. The battery includes overcharge, over-discharge, over-voltage and short-circuit protection to preserve cycle life.

Proprietary form factor limits use

The pack measures 45.6 by 31.3 by 10.6 millimetres and weighs 61.0 grams, a shape designed only for the listed Olympus devices. It cannot be used in equipment that requires a different voltage, connector layout or physical envelope. Buyers needing a standard AA or AAA cell, or a higher-capacity pack for other hardware, should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 45.6 x 31.3 x 10.6 mm Estry OL-5810 fit the battery compartment of my older Olympia OL-5805 handset?

Yes, the replacement is built to the original dimensions and voltage so it sits in the same compartment and connects to the existing contacts without modification.

How can I verify the 3.6 V 700 mAh pack is performing correctly after the first charge?

A full charge should deliver about 2.52 Wh; if the handset reaches its normal talk and standby times the pack is working as intended.

Does the box include a charging cradle or only the 61.0 g Ni-MH cell?

Only the battery cell is supplied; a compatible charger or handset dock must be provided separately.
