Smart Scale for Body Weight

The Etekcity ESF-551 is a digital floor scale that measures weight, body fat and BMI for up to 400 pounds. It connects to the free VeSync app, which provides customised diet and exercise plans based on logged habits. Data syncs with Apple Health, Samsung Health, Google Fit, FitBit and MyFitnessPal, and the scale works with Apple Watch and Alexa voice control. Unlimited user profiles are supported for household use.

Upgrade from Basic Bathroom Scale

This model replaces a simple mechanical or digital scale that only shows total weight. The jump is worth it when you want 13 biometric readings, progress graphs and goal tracking without manual entry. It also adds Zero-Current Mode for safe weigh-ins, Baby Mode for infant or pet growth, and a Light Item mode for parcels down to 100 grams. Buyers who need clinical-grade segmental analysis or medical diagnostics should look elsewhere.

Simple Setup on Flat Floors

Place the scale on a hard, level surface, insert the included alkaline batteries and pair it with the VeSync app via Bluetooth. The tempered glass platform measures 11 inches square and stands 1.1 inches high, weighing 1.56 kilograms. Readings resolve in 0.05 pound increments. Uneven flooring or carpet will skew results, and the surface can be slippery when wet.

Questions about this item

What flat surface area does the 11 in by 11 in platform need to sit level?

The scale requires a hard, even floor area at least 11 inches square so the four sensors make full contact; carpet or uneven tile will throw off the .05 lb resolution.

How do I pair the scale to the VeSync app without the Bluetooth step failing?

Open the app first, create an account, then step on the scale to wake it; the app will detect the ESF-551 automatically — skipping the app-first sequence is the most common pairing error.

When do the included alkaline cells need replacing after roughly 300 milliamp_hours of use?

Expect several months of daily weigh-ins; when the display dims or shows "Lo", swap all three AAA alkaline batteries at once to restore full 400 lb capacity.
