USB-A to USB-C 15 ft cable

This 15 ft USB-A to USB-C cable connects legacy USB-A ports to modern USB-C devices for charging and data syncing. The nylon-braided jacket resists tangling and is rated for over 20000 bend cycles. It supports up to 3 A current delivery with a built-in 56 kΩ resistor for safe conductivity. The male-to-male connectors fit standard USB-A host ports and reversible USB-C device ports.

USB 2.0 interface limits

The cable operates at USB 2.0 speeds, capping data transfer at 480 Mbps. It cannot carry USB 3.x or higher bandwidth signals regardless of the host or device capability. Fast charging up to 18 W requires a compatible USB-A power adapter supporting 9 V/2 A or 12 V/1.5 A output. Without such an adapter the cable defaults to standard 5 V charging rates.

480 Mbps data rate decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 480 Mbps maximum data throughput. Buyers who need faster file transfers or video output over USB-C must choose a USB 3.x or USB4 cable instead. This cable is not a USB-C to USB-C link and will not enable the highest charging speeds on devices that require USB Power Delivery over USB-C.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 15 ft length or a shorter cable for my setup?

The 15 ft cable lets you charge from a wall outlet while using the device on a sofa or bed; choose a shorter length only if you need less slack on a desk.

What does the 480 Mbps rating mean when I connect my phone to a laptop?

It caps file transfers at USB 2.0 speed, so moving photos or backups works but is slower than USB 3.0 or 3.1 links.

The cable has a USB-A plug — what charging speed does that limit me to?

The USB-A end delivers up to 3 A at 5 V (15 W); higher wattage fast-charging standards need a USB-C power source instead.
