Digital optical audio cable 49.2 ft

The Ethereal MHX-T15 is a TOSLINK cable designed to carry digital audio between source devices such as DVD or Blu-ray players, gaming consoles and computers, and receiving equipment including home-theatre receivers, amplifiers, powered speakers and sound cards. Its 15 metre length suits installations where components are far apart. The optical fibre core avoids the electromagnetic interference that can affect copper interconnects.

Simple push-fit TOSLINK connection

Each end terminates in a standard square TOSLINK plug with 24k gold-plated tips that resist corrosion and maintain a clean signal path. Installation is a matter of inserting the plugs until they click; no tools or drivers are required. The cable jacket features a highly visible colour marking that makes it easy to trace in dark equipment racks or behind furniture. The only common issue is forcing a plug into a port that has a protective cap still in place.

15 metre reach for whole-room runs

At 49.2 ft the cable comfortably spans living-room widths, projector-to-receiver distances and cross-room routing through trunking. Optical transmission remains loss-free over this length for standard S/PDIF bitstreams such as stereo PCM, Dolby Digital and DTS. Very high-rate multi-channel formats that exceed the S/PDIF specification are not supported, and runs significantly longer than 15 metres would require a repeater or active extender.
