Wooden Digital Alarm Clock for Bedside Use

The Everwood wooden digital alarm clock measures 10.0 in by 3.81 in and fits on a bedside table or desk. It shows the time, calendar and temperature on an LCD screen. The unit runs on three AAA batteries so it can be placed anywhere without a mains socket. It is intended for anyone who wants a simple battery-powered clock with a wood finish.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The LCD display uses very little current so the clock runs for a long period on a fresh set of batteries. No fan or active cooling is present, so operation is completely silent. The manufacturer recommends carbon batteries rather than alkaline types for best longevity. There is no heat output to consider in normal use.

Sustained Load Behaviour

When the battery charge falls low the LCD screen dims noticeably, signalling that replacement is needed. The backlight activates for only five seconds when the snooze button is touched, then switches off to conserve power. Continuous display illumination is not supported, so the clock remains readable in darkness only during brief button presses.

Questions about this item

How do I install the batteries and which type avoids display problems?

Open the battery compartment, insert three AAA carbon cells observing the polarity markings, then close the cover; alkaline cells are not recommended because they can cause the LCD to dim prematurely.

What ongoing maintenance does the clock require?

Replace the three AAA carbon batteries when the LCD screen begins to dim, which indicates the cells are depleted.

How long does the backlight stay on after I press the snooze button?

The backlight illuminates for 5 seconds each time the snooze button is touched, then turns off automatically to conserve battery life.
