C1000-48P-4G-L managed switch

The C1000-48P-4G-L is a rack-mountable, managed Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switch built for small-business and branch-office networks. It runs Cisco IOS Software and offers both a command-line interface and a web user interface for configuration and monitoring.

Suited for PoE+ edge deployments

This switch fits environments that need to power VoIP phones, wireless access points or IP cameras directly from the network cable. Sites that require Layer 3 routing, higher PoE budgets per port, or fibre uplink speeds beyond one gigabit should evaluate other platforms.

370 W total PoE+ budget

The unit delivers up to 370 W of PoE+ power shared across twenty-four 10/100/1000 copper ports, while an additional twenty-four copper ports and four Gigabit SFP uplinks provide data-only connectivity.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 48-port model or a smaller switch for my PoE devices?

This model provides 48 ports total: 24 ports support PoE+ and 24 are standard Gigabit, plus 4 SFP uplinks for fibre links.

How does the 370 W PoE budget work across the 24 powered ports?

The 370 W budget is shared across all 24 PoE+ ports; the switch allocates power per device demand and will not exceed the total budget.

What do the 4 SFP uplink ports connect to in practice?

The 4 SFP ports accept Gigabit SFP transceivers for fibre or copper uplinks to core switches or routers.
