EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming

The EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming card targets gamers who want Pascal architecture performance with a factory overclock. It ships with a base clock of 1594 MHz and a boost clock of 1784 MHz. The 8192MB GDDR5 frame buffer handles 1440p gaming and virtual reality workloads. A 500W power supply is the minimum recommended unit.

Suits 1440p and VR builds, not 4K ultra

This model fits builders assembling a 1440p high-refresh rig or a VR-ready system without stepping to a higher tier. The ACX 3.0 cooler uses SHP 2.0 heat pipes and optimized swept fan blades for lower noise. Users chasing 4K ultra settings or ray tracing should look at newer architectures instead.

8192MB GDDR5 decides 1440p viability

The 8192MB GDDR5 memory capacity is the single specification that determines whether this card fits your target resolution and texture budget. It provides enough VRAM for most 1440p titles and VR applications at high settings. Less memory would force texture compromises; more memory would require a different GPU tier.

Questions about this item

Will the 500 W recommended PSU work with my older power supply?

The card requires a 500 W or greater power supply. Check that your existing unit meets or exceeds this wattage and has the necessary PCIe power connectors.

How do I know the ACX 3.0 cooler is running properly after install?

Idle temperatures of 30°C to 40°C and load temperatures of 60°C to 85°C indicate normal operation. Temperatures above 90°C under load suggest an issue.

Does the box include the 8 GB GDDR5 memory or must I buy it separately?

The 8192 MB GDDR5 memory is soldered to the card and included. No separate memory purchase is needed.
