Capacity and purpose

This 18-inch gaming laptop pairs an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus 24-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. It carries 256 GB of DDR5 memory and 32 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across four modules. The configuration targets users who need desktop-class compute and graphics throughput in a portable chassis.

Display and interface limits

The panel runs at 3840 by 2400 resolution with a 200 Hz refresh rate, so the GPU must sustain very high frame rates to use the full motion clarity. Memory operates at 5600 MHz DDR5, and the four NVMe drives share the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, capping sequential throughput at that generation’s ceiling. CPU turbo reaches 5.5 GHz, but sustained clocks depend on thermal headroom.

Build and daily implications

A metal top, palm rest and bottom case add rigidity to the 15.59 by 10.95 by 0.98 inch frame weighing 7.25 lbs. Gelid GC Extreme thermal interface material is applied to the CPU and GPU to lower peak temperatures under load. The FlexiCharger and Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology adapt power delivery to workload demands during extended sessions.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256 GB DDR5 memory or a smaller kit?

The laptop ships with 256 GB DDR5 5600 MHz in four 64 GB modules filling every slot, so a smaller kit would mean removing memory rather than adding it.

What does the 5.5 GHz turbo figure mean once the system is running games?

The Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus can reach 5.5 GHz on its fastest cores under load, giving high single-thread speed for game logic while the 24 cores share 36 MB smart cache.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface affect the 32 TB NVMe storage in practice?

Each of the four 8 TB drives runs on a PCIe 4.0 x4 link, capping sequential throughput at the interface limit so large game installs and asset streaming hit that ceiling.
