UV protection for children

This UPF 50+ sun hat blocks 98% of UV rays for children aged 4 to 8. The 10cm wide brim and floppy back flap shield the face and neck during outdoor activities. Soft polyester fabric and mesh side vents keep the head cool and comfortable.

Limits of fabric UV shielding

The UPF rating applies only to areas covered by the hat material. Skin left exposed by the brim edge or neck flap opening still receives full UV intensity. Wet or stretched fabric can reduce the stated protection level over time.

Adjustable 52-55cm circumference fit

An elastic cord with a toggle at the rear tightens the hat to the child's head size. Detachable chin straps add security in wind or active play. Buyers needing a larger youth size or a rigid visor style should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Which size range covers children aged 4 to 8?

The hat adjusts from 52 cm to 55 cm, matching the 20.5" to 21.6" range listed for ages 4 to 8.

What does the UPF 50+ rating mean for daily wear?

UPF 50+ blocks 98% of UV rays, so the fabric lets only about 2% of ultraviolet radiation reach the scalp.

How does the 10 cm brim and mesh vents affect comfort?

The 10 cm wide brim and floppy back shade the face and neck, while mesh side vents and a moisture-wicking sweatband keep airflow high and sweat low.
